Thought by their grower to be Psilocybe cyanescens, the identification of these woodchip bed cultivated fungi has been questioned and Psilocybe azurescens was suggested as an alternate identity by
several different people based on one or more of these photographs.
All of the images involved are from the same flush.
Anecdotal accounts also report a consistently low alkaloid content for these carpophores suggesting that it may be neither species.
